In December 2015 the Canadian Government launched a National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. This guide will help you find background information and updates on the issues involved and provides links to organizations working on these issues.


The National Inquiry released its final report, "Reclaiming Power and Place", on June 3, 2019. The two volume report includes 231 recommendations or "Calls for Justice" directed at governments, institutions, social service providers, industries, and Canadians. The report is available here.


The Statement Gathering event took place March 27-29, 2018 and the Metro Vancouver Community Hearing was April 4-8, 2018. This was part one of the Truth Gathering Process.

The CBC radio show The Current broadcast a public forum on the issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women hosted in Vancouver on January 24, 2017.
