Pausing Holds

Pausing holds allows you to preserve your place in a holds queue but not have an item put aside for you until after a specified date. If going on vacation, for example, you can ensure you do not miss picking up an item by pausing the hold until the date of your return.

Start by logging in to your Library account.

From your My Borrowing screen select On Hold

Click on Not ready or In transit to pause holds

Holds that are Ready now have been processed and cannot be paused

If you no longer want a title that is Ready now you can select the Cancel option in that section

Change the layout of your list and the way your list is sorted selecting an option from the drop-down menus at the top right of the screen

To pause an individual title, select the Pause option for that item

To pause a number of titles at one time, use the checkboxes to the left of each item

When you have made your selection, click the red Pause button at the top of the screen

Set the date for your paused titles to resume and click the Yes, pause holds button

Your changes are now reflected in the My Borrowing section

Click on the Paused link in My Borrowing to view the list and make changes

Follow the same steps as above to Resume your hold(s) by selecting checkboxes and then select the red Resume button

Your paused titles are now active again and can be found in the On Hold list again
