Getting Started

Fast Read Ebooks is much like our Fast Read print collection. It consists of new and popular titles. Up to 2 titles can be checked out for 7 days at a time. When you finish an ebook, just return it and check out another. Items will also automatically return after 7 days. You cannot place holds on titles in this collection - which is good news, no waiting lists. Still, only those titles not currently checked out are available. Take a look at it here.

The way you use the Fast Read Ebooks collection differs with your method of access and device. See the sidebar for method and device specific instructions.

Help

Our Fast Read Ebooks collection is a cloudLibrary product. For FAQs, how-to videos and common issues take a look at cloudLibrary's help page.

Most often their instructions for "common issues" involve uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop app. This usually solves the problem. If it doesn't, a more "technical" approach may be needed. The desktop app likes to leave a bit of itself behind. Removing the bit should solve the issue. The way to find and delete this bit differs with the kind of operating system you are running.

If you are using a Windows machine, delete the desktop app. Then go to the start menu and search for: %appdata%. This should bring up a list of folders. One should be named "bibliotheca" or "3M Cloud Library". These are just differing names for the vendor of this ebook collection. Delete the folder. Now reinstall the desktop app. If you use our other ebook collections and have an Adobe ID, be sure to use this when you authenticate the desktop app.

If you are using a Mac, delete the desktop app. Then open Find. Make sure you're searching "This Mac". Change the "Name" at top of the right hand box to "Other" (if you don't see "Name" look just right of the "This Mac/Desktop" and click on the "+" beside the "Save" button). From the list, choose "System Files". Make sure the box to the right reads "are included". In the search box at the upper right hand of the Find window type: bibliotecha (the name of the company that makes cloudLibrary). Trash the file folder that appears. Now reinstall the desktop app. If you use our other ebook collections and have an Adobe ID, be sure to use this when you authenticate the desktop app.
