CyberSafety For Parents Digital Forum FAQ

What kind of program is this?

This is our first attempt at an all-digital program.  It's a pilot, and we're really excited about it; however, we may experience technical issues and thank you for your patience.

Can I attend in person?

Cyber Safety for Parents is a purely digital program.  If you need a computer to listen to the program, you may try to access one of our public workstations at any of our branches that are open on Friday evenings.  You'll need to supply your own headphones.

We will also be capturing the broadcast for playback if you can't make it on Friday.

How does it work?

At the time of the live broadcast, the listening widget in the middle column will become live and a chat box will appear so you can submit your questions to our guests.

Can I use my tablet or smart phone?

At this time, handheld devices are not compatible with our broadcast platform.  We hope in future to make this a possibility. For now, you'll need a desktop computer or laptop (PC or MAC) and an internet connection.  Because we're using audio only for our broadcast, bandwidth requirements are quite low.

Do I need a library card or some sort of account?

There is no restriction on attendance, and no registration is necessary.  Also, the chat software guards your privacy.

Have questions about the program?  Send us an email at and "see" you on December 6th!
